Scripture Art

7 Reasons Every Christian Home Needs Scripture Art

“These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.” Deuteronomy 6:6,9

...

God’s Word is powerful. It’s a solid rock that we can build our lives upon. As Christians, it’s our source of spiritual life.

God knows that His Word sustains us. He knows that for us to thrive spiritually, we must write His words on our heart. I believe that’s why He gave the commands above.

The verse from Deuteronomy was written thousands of years ago. But as Christians, it still applies to us. We all need to be reminded of God’s promises on a daily basis.

We believe the best way to do this is through Scripture Art.

Here are 7 reasons why:

1) Scripture Art Reminds Us of God’s truth

Putting Scripture Art on our walls is a simple and beautiful way to remind us of God’s truths.

Every time we pass it, we’re reminded of what God has said. This is simple, but incredibly powerful.

Maybe you’re having an off day. Feeling down. The verses in the artwork will remind you of what you believe. It speaks truth when you’re tempted to believe lies.

It’s not the artwork that does this—but God’s Word that’s within it. That’s the beauty of Scripture Art. In the simple of act of decorating your home, you’re actually equipping yourself (and your family) with a spiritual weapon.

No matter how long we’ve been a Christian, we all need a reminder from time to time.

2) Scripture Art Can Plant & Water Seeds of Faith

I didn’t grow up Christian. In fact, I never heard the gospel until my early 20’s.

I still remember the first Bible verse I read. It was on a card that my mom had given me in college. She had just become a Christian, and she wrote Proverbs 3:5-6 on my birthday card.

I didn’t know it at the time, but a seed was planted.

“I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.” - 1 Corinthians 3:6

Over the next year, I came across Scripture in unexpected places. It was often these verses that impacted me the most.

It was a verse written in an alleyway somewhere, or artwork I saw with a Bible verse on it. As somebody who was seeking truth, these moments felt like clues.

"That’s the power of putting Scripture Art in your home. Anyone who visits your home has the opportunity to read the living word of God."

It felt like God was speaking directly to me.

That’s the power of putting Scripture Art in your home. Anyone who visits your home has the opportunity to read the living word of God. And that’s how seeds are planted.

We plant and water seeds. God makes it grow.

3) You Are Partnering with God in His Promises

This next point is one of my favorites. The idea of partnering with God to accomplish His purposes is pretty profound. But by putting Scripture in the world (and in our home), we can do that!

One of my life verses is in Isaiah 55:

”As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is MY WORD that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” - Isaiah 55:10-11

I love this verse because God is making a very clear statement. He says that His Word will always accomplish what he desires, and achieve his purposes.

So when we put up Bible verses in our home, we are trusting that God will use His Word to accomplish his desires and achieve his purposes within our home.

That may be the strengthening of our own faith or the planting and watering of another’s. It could be any number of things. But we can have confidence that God's Word is at work. It will never return void.

4) Scripture Art Sparks Conversations About The Bible

Talking about our faith is not always easy.

It can feel awkward to bring it up with family and friends. It’s often challenging to discuss spiritual things with those close to us, without knowing how to ‘break the ice’.

But as Christians, we are called to share about the hope that we have in Christ. It’s a treasure to be shared, not kept to ourselves!

Some of our artwork, especially God’s fingerprint, is a great way to open up a conversation about God.

God's Fingerprint Artwork Scripture Art Bible Verse Christian Gift

God's fingerprint has one hand-written verse from every book of the Bible. When people see the artwork, they want to know what’s written within each line.

As our friends and family look into this artwork, it becomes quite natural to ask them questions about the Bible and what they believe.

We often get messages from our customers who have seen this principle at work when they put it up in their homes.

5) To Surround Yourself with Beauty

The places we live and work influence us deeply.

The beauty of nature is a good example of this. Sunsets. Mountains. Oceans. Every detail has been masterfully crafted. That's why our souls come alive when we're surrounded by the beauty of God's creation.

”God made everything beautiful in its time” - Ecc 3:11

As we look to decorate our living spaces, artwork can do something similar. Instead of surrounding ourselves with drab, blank walls, we can surround ourselves with beautiful expressions of human creativity.

Scripture Art is a great solution for this, because it combines the best of both worlds. It's a sacred fusion of human creativity and God's inspired Word.

To surround ourselves with beauty—is to nourish our souls.

6) Scripture Art Helps You Meditate on God's Word

The Bible has a lot to say about the value of meditating on God’s Word.

It brings success (Joshua 1:8), spiritual vitality (Psalm 1:2-3), a sense of wonder (Psalm 77:12-13) and insight above our teachers (Psalm 119:99).

One of the best ways to meditate on something is to always keep it front of mind. To ponder it and think over it. To have it before us day and night.

By putting Scripture Art with Bible verses on our walls, we make it easier for ourselves to meditate and think about God’s Word.

It’s as simple as that.

7) God Commands It

In Deuteronomy, God commands his people to write His Words on their door frames and gates. Every time they entered or left their home they were reminded of his commands.

“These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.” Deuteronomy 6:6,9

It would easy to brush this verse off as outdated command out of the Old Testament, but that would be a mistake.

"Filling the places we live and work with beautiful expressions of His Word just makes sense."

God doesn’t command us to do anything without good reason. God loves us and wants the best for us. He wants us to thrive. His commandments are for our good.

As Christians, God’s Word is our primary source of life.

Filling the places we live and work with beautiful expressions of His Word just makes sense.

In Conclusion

Surrounding ourselves with verses that inspire and convict us helps us to stay focused on what matters most.

It’s more than just making our homes look beautiful.

It’s about tapping into the life-changing power of God’s Word by filling every aspect of our lives with its truth.

So there you have it.

It really is simple to share & to witness this way. It opens opportunity for conversations about God, his love, and mercy toward us.

Mary Danser

To have His word always before our children. Many conversations have been started with their friends as they got older and even practiced their reading using scripture displayed on the wall. A family could read the blessing together on the child’s bedroom wall as part of a bedtime routine.

Good morning – it’s a snowy day in Canada and I love how the Lord is in every corner of the earth sharing his creativity with us and blessing us through his beautiful art. Thank you for reminding me about my gift- my art. It’s healing to my soul. Not realizing – I have scripture in all my rooms – even the bathroom. It’s a blessing to share the Word and lift up his name with my family. I am colouring in at the moment – using a devotion on proverbs and this has been a real eye opener. It’s a blessing to share our talents – isn’t it!!

I don’t have a favorite verse just because it is most difficult for me to memorize Bible verses. BUT, when I came upon your web site I fell in love with the Bible verses and the art. I will continue to purchase your products because it gives my heart a song to sing. Thank you!!!

We moved into our forever home 1 year ago. I haven’t done much decorating, as we have been caring for my elderly father-in-law and mother-in-law during this past year. But I also realized that I hesitated because I hadn’t found the ‘right’ things for the walls of our home. Now I know why. I need scripture art! We ordered God’s fingerprint and will build from there. With scripture and photos of our family, our house will feel like home.

Keta

I love the idea of Scripture Art as a way of beginning a conversation about Our Lord and my faith…thank you!

Jennie Heberg

Thank you so much for your testimony, for sharing the importance of God’s Word gracing our homes. I returned to my 1st love at 27 and have followed in His footsteps an walked beside Him along the way & now 66, and see the writing on the walls, door posts, etc. as an of great importance… His Word permeates our homes, both physical & spiritual! We’re extremely excited to receive our 1st piece of your art…God’s Fingerprint. Years ago I came across a 16×20 of Jesus praying…looks like a sketch from a distance, up close its the Gospel of John…amazing. Thanks again, enjoying your email.

I used to write scripture verses on my walls so I’d be encouraged to keep living. Matthew 4:23-7:29 is my daily devotion.

“And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” 2 Chronicles 20:15
This has been my go to verse in times of trials.

Claudia Graham

Hi, what a joy it was to discover your beautiful art work. I look forward to receiving the piece I ordered and to ordering more. I firmly believe that the Lord speaks in all ways when those ways are dedicated to Him. Thank you for dedicating such beautiful talent to Him.

Reading this makes me wonder if this could be made into a little booklet. As beautiful as this is, I’m sure you have more inside you to inspire you to make that little booklet into a book. I do wish I had this from today where I could pick it up and read it and share it. (I have no printer) but I am writing it down when I get some time.

Karin Bailey

I love your ideas. Ordered the fingerprint and plan to buy something else each month after I pay my bills. May Grace and Peace be with you.

Nachaka Davenport

Thank you so much for sharing such a beautiful story and factual information. God is truly using you as one of his vessels to not only encourage people like me but help show us the way to him. I thank GOD first and foremost and you and your family for keeping those of us who want to follow the words of GOD on the right track. As soon as God’s fingerprint is available in the NKJ version with rose gold scripture I will be place an order. I am on the waiting list when it comes out. May God continue to bless you and your family. Peace and Blessings

Sue Leonard

I really enjoy & NEED His word & the manner you have chosen to share that.

David Hull

I love the idea of scripture art. One of my favorite hobbies is putting puzzles together. So I thought what a perfect combination, making puzzles out of scripture art. Once put together I “paint” over the front of the puzzle with a good amount of Elmer’s glue that dries clear and let it dry overnight. I’ve got quite a few puzzles done already and eventually I plan on using them as wallpaper in my study. I can’t think of a better type of wallpaper than scripture art. Keep up the great work.

Linda Thomas

I love art. I love God’s word. You have the best of both. Thanks!

Amy

I haven’t even received my order yet and am so glad I got it. Thank you so much for sharing with us, so much that’s goes beyond the art. As beautiful as it is. God bless.

Zelda

So that it will be written on the walls of our hearts as well!!!

I was attracted to your post because I am searching ways to deepen my relationship with Christ. In addition, I was interested in knowing your story and how you were inspired by this type of art. It is gorgeous. Thank you for allowing me to follow your story.

Vicky Kasem-Fackler

Be still and know that I am God. What a wonderful blessing he gave you. 🙏

I feel so ashamed that I’ve been a Christian for as long as I can remember. I can’t think, there’s so much that I need to learn and trust in God more.

Jill Meeks

I love your products and plan to purchase several pieces of your scriptural artwork soon! Thank you for developing these beautiful products! I agree that they will be an encouragement and will open up opportunities for meaningful discussions. ❤️❤️❤️

Regina

Thank you for sharing all the beautiful reasons to put Gods word in art form. There are so many more reasons to put up such brilliant art work. The one that comes to my mind is…Phil. 4:8. To think on those things that are lovely and good report. To keep those right thoughts before us because it’s our thoughts 💭 is where our journey begins in our hearts. Father God wants us to think on the things above where we are seated with Christ. These words are to be kept in front of us just like you have mentioned earlier. They are reminders. (With a Smile)

Joann Lord

This is a very important for Christians to be aware of what they are decorating their homes with. It’s shows your heart and what you believe in. If Jesus lives in you. He lives there with you. God bless

Doree

Hi Jason! I’m really enjoying the story of how you began your company. What a wonderful gift God gave you to share with so many others and pass along the encouragement you received from Him! I’m looking forward to purchasing many things from God’s fingerprints.com!
I was wondering tho…I didn’t see a coupon for the 15% off. Is it coming in a future email? Thank you for your help. God bless!

I agree that God’s words should be in your home as a constant reminder and to let you know that he is always with you. If you have a blank canvas than your mind will also be the same.
