GOD'S FINGERPRINT® was the first piece of artwork I made as a Christian.
I’m not sure how the idea came into my mind—but once it was there, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I never saw myself as an artist—so it all seemed a bit strange to me.
The idea in my mind was simple: a fingerprint with verses of Scripture in place of the lines. The details were still foggy though. What verses would go where? What verses would I choose? For quite some time, I wasn't sure how to move forward.
Eventually, God led me to an interesting insight. As I was pondering the idea one day, I started thinking about how many lines were in a fingerprint. I printed an image of a fingerprint and started tracing out each line.
I discovered there were 66 lines in the fingerprint. To my great surprise, I realized this was the exact same number of books in the Bible!
At that point, the concept became clear. GOD'S FINGERPRINT® would have one verse from every book of the Bible. From Genesis to Revelation, every book of Scripture would be represented in this artwork.

The steps that followed were very slow and meticulous. I started to carefully assign each book of the Bible to a line in the fingerprint. Once that was done, I pored through Scripture to find a verse from each book that matched the line it was assigned to.
Each line was a different length, so the verse had to match perfectly. I also wanted to make sure each verse was powerful, representing God’s Word to its fullest.
This process was laborious but fulfilling, as each line revealed more of the depth and breadth of God’s inspired Word.
Once GOD'S FINGERPRINT® was filled with verses in pencil - it was time to make it final. It was time to go over every word and line with archival ink. To say that this process was daunting would be a huge understatement. One mistake and the entire piece would be ruined!

My prayer through the entire process was "Lord, please guide my hands to create an accurate reflection of your perfect Word.”
Once it was finished, I didn’t show anybody for awhile. I wasn't sure what to make of it. Eventually one of my housemates saw it and when I told him how it was a fingerprint filled with Scripture he said, "Bro, that’s God's fingerprint!" From that point forward, the artwork has always been called GOD'S FINGERPRINT®.
The name has always felt right. A fingerprint helps us discover the identity of the one it belongs to. And I don’t know anything that reflects God’s identity more than His Word.
We're still not sure what God would like to accomplish with this artwork, but our prayer is that God would use it to spread His truth.

I would love nothing better then to be honored with your artwork of our Lord’s fingerprint, especially now that our family will be going thru some really trying stuff here, very soon. But we can’t even afford a pair of shoes right now. We’re in our 60s and having to go thru what we will be having to, very soon, is something I don’t wish on anyone. But I definitely would have purchased one. I need to be able to “see” he will be right by our side, even moreso now, we’re really going to need Him. But I will have to just look at your picture of your beautiful picture, and feel I know he’s with me at that time. I have ordered 4 of these beautiful prints so far! A black on white for my home, then the limited edition came out and I had to have it! I brought the black on white to my office at work and of course framed the gold in black in my home. I keep a light shining on it 24/7! I ordered one for our church congregation to present to our Pastor for Pastor appreciation this Sunday, 10/09/22. The 4th one I ordered for my Boss! She has seen the one I have at work and is in love with it as well!

Wow what a beautiful story of God’s love. God is so good. Absolutely good to His children. But not is He only good to His children but to all that are born in the earth. Everything was created for God’s pleasure. Everyone has a purpose and a destiny even before the foundation of the world. Even before they were formed in the womb of their mother. Awesome tedious work but like you said, Jason, so worth it and God did His work in you while you were doing His work for the world. Are all the scriptures readable in the smallest of the fingerprints? The print is legible, but am wondering if purchased can be read without a magnifying glass? This was so great. Yesterday our Prayer Group was praying about the small things in life that the Lord uses to show us Himself and His love for us. And, lo and behold, your wonderful story was one of the first emails that I opened up this morning! A story about one of the smaller, and generally unnoticed, parts of the human body that the Lord designed and so finely tuned for us.
And it also tells His story so powerfully!
It reminded me of one of the scriptures on “small beginnings”:
