“God defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner amongst you.” - Deuteronomy 10:18
One of the things that has always struck me about God is his heart for the marginalized. All throughout Scripture, we see His concern for those without a voice. The orphan, the widow, the poor, the refugee. These are the ones God mentions time and time again—and whom Jesus seems especially drawn to. God has a heart for the ‘least of these’. The ones we tend to forget. This is something that God has been stirring in our hearts over the past few months.
This is not a political post (there are enough of those)—but simply a reminder of God’s heart for those on the margins. Regardless of what happens in our governments, let us find creative ways to love and serve. Whether that’s supporting amazing organizations on the ground (preemptivelove.org), or finding ways to open our homes to those who need it most—may Christ’s love shine within us as we become His hands and His feet in this broken world.
